Known as the Rubber City, Akron is situated about 40 miles south of Cleveland. If nature is your thing the Akron area has many different parks to chose from including F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm, Summit County Metroparks, and The Cuyahoga Valley National Park to name a few.
Akron is home to Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, a national landmark, that has year-round entertainment, and is one of the largest homes in the United States. The local art scene is always buzzing here as well. Akron is home to many artists that use this industrial town as inspiration for countless works of art which can be enjoyed throughout the city and beyond. Catch a live show at one of our many area theatres such as The Akron Civic, E.J Thomas Hall, and many small local theatre companies. Although Canal ways are no longer used for transportation, you can bike or walk along the Ohio Erie Canalway. A multi-use trail that is approximately 85 miles long and runs not only through our downtown area, but through Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark, and Tuscarawas Counties as well.
